Welcome to W.T.I., the World Taekwondo Institute
The WTI has classes oriented for both children and adults. The energetic atmosphere of our programs and our personal approach to teaching are designed to give students the necessary tools to become better people through martial arts.
How is the W.T.I. different from othrer Taekwondo programs?
Certification: Our instructors and belts are certified by Kukkiwon, the World Taekwondo Federation. Athletes with Kukkiwon certified belts can compete at that color in any competition world-wide.
Class schedule: The class schedule is designed to provide multiple class options to each age and skill level.
Champions: Our staff has produced numerous State, Pan Am, National and International Champions.
| Self Defense
|| Self Control
| Self Defence (Hosinsul) is one of the four principles of taekwondo. Although taekwondo is a "self defense" sport in itself, it focusses on high and spinning kicks which are not very suitable for real life (street) application. Hosinsul is a mixture of all kinds of techniques, including grappling/locks as well as defending against armed attackers etc
|| Tae kwon do is also a way to build up more confidence. Rather than only knowing just learning taekwondo, we have to apply the principles of Taekwondo in our life. Though it is a martial art, its discipline, technique and mental training are the mortar for building sense of justice, fortitude, humility and resolve day to day issues with confidence.
|| Without self-control, a Taekwon-Do student is just like any fighter in the street. Loss of self-control is disastrous both in sparring and personal affairs. "The term of stronger is the person who wins over oneself rather than someone else", Lao Tzu
|Taekwondo helps channel aggressive energy into socially acceptable forms of personal confidence.
Anyone can appreciate and participate
in Taekwondo-men, women, and children for the age of four. Taekwondo training is particularly valuable for children because the discipline respect self-confidence and athletic abilities trained carries over into the students academies, social and family lives.
